When:  Wednesday, February 17th – 12:05pm OR 5:15pm

“The ashes mean I’m a sinner…but the cross means that I have a Savior. The ashes mean that I’m not who I should be…but the cross means there is a God who believes so fully in me that He is making me (right now) into the person that He believes I can be.” – Fr. Mike Schmitz
Ash Wednesday kicks off the season of Lent and is a Christian holy day of prayer, fasting, and repentance. Join us for our 12:05pm or 5:15pm Mass at UIC! +:)
Because of the pandemic restrictions, we only have spaces for 48 people per Mass on Ash Wednesday, so you MUST register in advance via the button below since space is limited. Masks are required and everyone will be seated six feet apart. Ashes will be lightly sprinkled on the top of the head instead of on the forehead (which is a common way to receive ashes on Ash Wednesday in the Eastern part of the world) to provide a contactless version of the receiving of ashes.
