As I wrapped up my senior year of college, I found myself desiring good Catholic community, so I decided to sign up for the SEEK2021 conference. In one of the small group sessions during the conference, I bonded with one of the FOCUS missionaries over food and cooking, and after the conference, she continued to invest in me, as a witness of the Lord’s love for me. She continued to invite me to be a part of the Newman community, and through her investment, I came to see that God didn’t just want a relationship with me, but through me, He wanted a relationship with everyone. After graduating, I was presented with the opportunity to give my life radically to His call by serving as FOCUS missionary. I used to think that serving the Lord was something I could do later in life, but I realized that He was calling me to reach souls right now, and I am thrilled to be taking this next step to serve the Lord as a full-time FOCUS missionary at Cal State Northridge! I am forever grateful for Newman and the Christ-centered community I found there, which led me to a deeper relationship with Christ and inspired me to build that same sense of community with others.
